The Long Overdue Update: Anniversary Night Out, Football Time in Tennessee, Kansas City, oh you meant to say St. Louis?, Fun with the Cards!

Many apologies for the long overdue blog update! My intention when starting the blog was to write every few days, not once a month! ;) Since it has almost been a month, we have many, and I mean many, new updates for those of you we haven't talked to in a while. I'll try to share a detailed, but somewhat brief update...

First off, our little Jayden is now a big 9 months old and has a love for life that is so contagious that it sometimes can make you sickly positive and lovey! :) I mentioned to Mom this morning and think to myself at least a thousand times a day, that I really don't understand how I got so lucky to be this little man's mommy. Trust me, there are extremely tough days where I'm tired and exhausted and don't think I can do another chore or task, but Jayden has made me appreciate life in more ways than I could possibly try to explain. I truly hope and believe that Jayden keeps this love of life as long as he lives because life is tough and people can be cruel, but he touches people he's around in an amazingly positive way and I think the world could use a little more of that sometimes!
Here's a couple of brief updates: To the right is a picture of Dipal and I celebrating our first anniversary! We had a great dinner at a really fun place with a band playing while we ate (very fun!) followed by a movie at the Moolah theater, a very unique theater with couches as the first few rows. We didn't make it quite in time for couches, but it was fun! Thanks to Blake and Lindsey for taking care of Jayden that evening! It was great to have a night out!
Also, to the right is a picture of me and Dipal at the UT vs. FL game... all you need to know is we had a great time visiting all our friends and Jayden had so much fun hanging out at the Boston (my mom's) house that he didn't even ackowledge Dipal and I to say bye! The score of the game isn't important.... Moving on... :)

As for the Chaudhari family updates... Many of you know, but many of you may not have heard yet, we are no longer moving to Kansas City! I mentioned in a previous post we were hoping to be closer to home (TN) than Kansas City even though we had much excitement to live in KC. Well, while in KC last Wednesday we received some news that sent us straight back to St. Louis. You see, we had driven to KC straight from a trip to TN (where we saw our Vols slapped around by gators, but had great times with friends!), a 12 1/2 hour drive, to look at places to live as our move was approaching quickly. We spent our entire day Wednesday looking at places and then met for dinner with Dipal's would-be trainer and his wife. During dinner, Dipal received several phone calls, but did not answer since we were at dinner. After leaving dinner, he checked his voicemails which included 2 messages speaking of "changes." After getting in touch with Andy, a good friend and supervisor to field sales trainees, and Mark, the team manager for Dipal's new position, we learned that Dipal would still be starting the position of field sales trainee, but would be doing it in the St. Louis territory, not KC! We are very excited for so many reasons that we are staying in the St. Louis area, but to be honest, were flooded with many different emotions in those first moments of finding out. For most, staying where you already are would be an obvious effortless transition, however, as we had been living in a very nice, but very small space over the last 1 1/2 years, we are still in a position of having to find a new place to live and we feel an urgency due to the possibility of highly increased rent since we could be staying past the date we told our apartment we would be staying. So with the good news does come some stress, as we originally told our apartment we would be moving out at the end of October. Prayers are much appreciated as we are searching for a place to live, contemplating buying vs renting, and trying to find an area around St. Louis where cost of living is reasonable for us, but hopefully not too far out from the city... All in all, we know God will direct our path where we need to go, so that's all I'm going to say about that for now!

On a lighter note, this past Saturday we had a ton of fun at the Monsanto Customer Ops Dept. picnic! This year it was held at the Cardinals game and we had a blast! We started with meeting some previous Cards players, followed by yummy food and socializing, a walk on the field and even a Build-A-Bear Fredbird and Clydesdale spiffied up in St. Louis gear. Congrats Fun Squad on a super fun event! Oh, and of course there were some fun pictures taken including our family with the World Series trophy, Jayden sitting on the field, Dipal and I with our friends Dan and Amanda, and probably our favorite of the night, some Fredbird fun! Hope you all are having an amazing week! Chaudhari love to you all!

Wonderful Weekend with "Good People"

Hi all faithful Chaudhari blog viewers! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We had a great weekend around here and of course I’m writing to share it with you!
e finally tried to start getting our lives in order a little on Saturday from our two week trip to Tennessee… you know all the boring stuff like laundry and putting suitcases up. I had put it off long enough and it was time to get this place back in order. The trip to Tennessee was great, but it definitely took me a few days to bounce back from being out of town. I’m starting to see that every time we go out of town, even just back home, I feel exhausted at least for the next day or two (or 5 in this case). Anyway, not too exciting there, but Saturday night was fun as we gathered together with our wonderful St. Louie friends (with the exception of GPa Andy who was greatly missed!). *P.S. We also miss Uncle Dan and Aunt Manna and hope your trip to Spain was amazing!* We all met up for the St. Louis Art Fair, did a little art viewing, a lot of good eating and had tons o’ fun as usual! While we were there we also ran into a little family (shout out to Chris and Chad!) which was exciting, especially for Jayden who unusually wasn’t cracking smiles until he saw Chad, and then it was game on for the evening! I think I’ll also throw in a shout out to Hank’s amazing cheesecake, because their turtle cheesecake dipped in chocolate on a stick was extremely yummy!
Sunday was also a fun day as we had another first for Jayden! Jayden stayed in the church nursery for the first time and did great! I was a little nervous about this, not gonna lie, and I’m sure none of you are really surprised by that! All the ladies said he just played the whole time and you never would have known he was a nursery first timer. A cute story though – another little girl was having some apples and when Jayden saw she was eating went over and showed his interest in her food, so they shared the little girl’s applesauce with Jayden. Funny thing is, Jayden had never had apples, but we were suppose to start them yesterday, but since I hadn’t been to the grocery store yet, we didn’t have any. Well, he got him some apples anyway! The rest of the afternoon was spent watching football with Daddy at Uncle Blake and Aunt Lindsey’s house.
One extra note: On my last blog I forgot one of the best “tricks” Jayden can do and that’s kisses! I’ve thought he understood kisses for a while and even tried them a few times, but now it’s for sure! They’re sloppy, but the sweetest bit of drool you’ll ever feel on your cheek! Since the last blog he has also discovered his pointer finger and thinks it is fun to point. Of course, Dipal used this as a new way to pick on me as he and Jayden decided to come up to me this weekend and point and laugh! Only 8 months old and the two are already ganging up on me!
I leave you with a picture of Jayden after his lunch on Saturday. Getting spoon fed is a tough job, but somebody’s
gotta do it! ;) Chaudhari love to you all!

Let's Get Up To Date!

On December 22 at 3:44 pm, Dipal and I received the biggest blessing we could have ever asked for - Jayden Dipal Chaudhari was born! We have been amazingly blessed as our journey has begun down the road of parenting. At the time I'm writing this, Jayden is now a big 8 months old and loving the new found freedom of independently traveling all over our little apartment! Any day spent at home consists of multiple trips from the living room where he can play a little Fisher Price piano to the kitchen where he can get into Mommy's pots and pans. Some of his "tricks" as we jokingly call them are to clap and try his best attempt at the word "yay" and also to wave in several different fashions - he hasn't decided if he likes to wave just the fingers or the entire hand yet, and sometimes if having an indecisive moment like his mommy is known for, he will wave with just his fingers on one hand and use the other hand for the whole hand wave. He started his crawling around the 6 months mark and pulling up onto everything he can use to steady himself soon followed. We know walking is only a matter of time, which is exciting, but also frightening! :)
One thing everyone loves to brag about with their children is their first word, and this is where we might start to run into confusion with Jayden. Jayden definitely attempts to say things all the time and at points has said words like "Mama" (which lasted for 2 days and still hasn't returned, but I had witnesses!), "Yay," "Hi," and even the phrase "Hi Daddy" surprisingly clear, but hasn't been consistent, so do we count it yet or not? I don't know...

So, let's see... crawling, pulling up, first words, "tricks"... I think we might have helped you get up to speed on the Jayden front, but if I have left anything out please let me know and I'll add more! The only other thing that you might be interested in is the food department, so here's an update in that arena. As many of you know, nursing Jayden was very important to Dipal and me if at all possible. Fortunately, it worked very well for us, but as many of you who are parents know, was also very demanding. For a long time now, I pumped so that Dipal could also help feed Jayden in the evenings. But, due to a lacking supply on my end and the desire to make things a little easier if I needed to be away from Jayden at the time of a feeding, or if we were traveling and so on, we decided to incorporate formula into Jayden's feedings. At first, he absolutely hated it, but now doesn't mind it at all and I think he actually likes being able to hold his own bottle and be able to do one more thing on his own. I'm still nursing in the mornings, but through out the day it has been a huge help just to be able to prepare a bottle and go. He is also enjoying baby food and on any given day can enjoy foods from a selection of: Pears, squash, sweet potatoes, peaches, bananas, peas, green beans, carrots, or even prunes if needed! :) He definitely has shown a preference for yummy fruits over veggies, but we always try a new food for a week and so far he eventually will warm up to anything.

As for our family, many of you know we will soon be moving to Kansas City, which we are actually very excited about! Dipal and I (and Jayden) were really hoping to move closer to God's Country (known to others as Tennessee), but that's not what God has for us right now and we have a genuine excitement to be in KC. Please keep us in your prayers as we are searching for a place to live and will be moving at the end of October.

Finally, speaking of good ol' Rocky Top, we just returned from a trip to our real home (TN) and it was great! Jayden and I were able to stay in Nashville for a few days with Dad, Liz, Robert & Kathryn and then traveled to Cleveland where we visited with the Boston and Chaudhari clans as well as my grandmother (who is doing well health wise for all of you who have lovingly shown concern throughout the time of her surgery) and also my Pops who Jayden and I celebrated his 78th birthday with. Also, on August 25 was mine and Dipal's one year anniversary, which sadly we spent apart due to his work travels, but are looking forward to celebrating over the next couple of weeks at some point! If anyone has any ideas for a fun night out for a young St. Louie couple let us know! :)

We'll try to be good about keeping this blog updated so that whenever you need a dose of the Chaudhari's we are here! For those of you back home, we miss you more than words can explain, but look forward to seeing you soon! We are planning on attending the Tenn-Florida game, so those of you who will be around at that time better set aside at least a few minutes of your "Football time in Tennessee" for some Chaudhari love! :)

All Jayden, All the Time

Ever think to yourself, "If only I could see little Jayden right now my day would be a little brighter"? If so, this is a blog for you! :)
We've put together a special blog page to keep all our family and friends updated with all the new changes, funny stories and special moments we have with Jayden. I know a lot of you have enjoyed "stalking" our online photos, so here's to one more thing to distract you from work and/or your to-do list!
