Stop and Smell the Roses: Faith and "Framily"

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great week!

Just wanted to share my Stop and Smell the Roses vlog, a few minutes where I stop and take some time to talk about what I'm thankful for this week. This is a link-up hosted by Mandy from House of Rose and I know she would love for you to go over and check it out, better yet, film your own vlog and link up! It doesn't have to be professional and it's super fun!

Stop and Smell the Roses

Today I'm talking about some of the things that have stood out to me most in the last few days, like my faith and friends that are like family. I even got to have my sweet little Jayden join me! He decided to throw in a few words of his own. ;)

Also, just wanted to share my YouTube subscribe button just in case you would like to do that. Just hit "Subscribe" below. Easy peasy!

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

  1. Could Jayden be any sweeter in that vlog? I love that he included Lynn in the neighborhood kid group! I am so glad you all have wonderful neighbors. I know it must be so tough to be far from your family! You know you are welcome at our house anytime!

  2. I think Mr. Jayden did an awesome job for his first vlog!! So glad you guys had a wonderful Easter & so glad that you have such wonderful neighbors too!! I don't know what I would do if I didn't have our family here in Southern Illinois! I depend on them sooo much!! It would definitely be hard!! It's great that you have your neighbors to fill that void & to be a support system for you guys!! Unfortunately, all of our neighbors are older & we don't have that! Even more reason to be thankful for having our family here in Southern Illinois!!

  3. Jayden is so cute in your vlog! And he is so calm and kids are always running around screaming or shoving their face in the camera on mine. Ha! And when I lived in Southern Illinois for 6 years while I went to college and grad school, my friends (and their families) became my family and it always meant so much to me, especially when I was feeling homesick. Super cute post sweetie! You are always so great in your videos :-)

  4. Jayden is such a lovebug!! I love his comments throughout the video. I am with you on missing family- we didn't go home for Easter either and it's always hard when you can't spend holidays with family. Thank goodness for FaceTime and Skype though. I still cannot get over your little guy he is toooo cute!

  5. Jayden is so adorable!! What a sweet boy you have :)

It's so nice to meet you and I just wanted to thank you for that sweet comment you left on my post :)

I'm glad to hear you had a lovely Easter, and I totally know what it's like to live so far away from family. I left my loved ones and my home in Vermont 4 years ago to study abroad. I totally know how hard it is. Thankfully I have my English husband and in-laws here, otherwise I'd be so lost! On days where you're feeling a bit low and missing them terribly (especially on holidays) just remember that absence makes the heart grow fonder. I think separation makes you appreciate your loved ones so much more and provides you with a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how blessed you truly are. So in a weird way, it can keep you even more grounded and humble.

Loved your vlog, can't wait for next week! :) xoxo

  6. I know what you mean about missing family on holidays. My family is in Southern Illinois and I live about a half an hour north of Atlanta. I have Nathan's family though so that makes up for missing mine a little bit. I miss them every day of course but sometimes around holidays I just want to be with them instead. Glad you had a great Easter with friends. Hope your little guy feels better soon!

  7. Oh what a cutie pie. So glad you had a nice Easter and that your neighbors have made you feel like family.

  8. He is just cute as a button! I hope he gets to feeling better!!

  9. You are too sweet! We love having you as part of our family!

  10. Y'all are so cute - great vlog! Jayden is just the sweetest!! Glad you had a good Easter and that you have such wonderful neighbors!! What a blessing!
